You won't believe what we've found in our outdoor area!

The children rushed outside after the teachers mentioned they'd seen some unusual objects. They were shocked to find a forest animal, a steering wheel and parts of a spaceship! After finding these objects, the children wanted to investigate them further, so we created 3 projects and each child voted for the one they'd like to be part of. These projects have since become the stimulus for our classroom provision and topic work.

The choice of these 3 projects have been based on children's interests which were observed in their play. We are looking forward to allowing them lead the learning through their engagement and also find out why the objects were left in our outdoor area!

The links below allow you to access the EYFS Statutory Framework and the Development Matters curriculum guidelines.

The EYFS Statutory Framework is a set of standards for the learning, development and care all schools must follow.

The Development Matters guidelines support us to implement the statutory curriculum requirements in Reception.

In order to support correct letter formation, we use theRead Write Inc letter rhymes and pictures. Below is are two links to a copy of these, which will help at home.

It is important that children are encouraged to pronounce the 'pure' sounds in a word. Here is a link to helpful video to support you with using 'pure' sounds at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlTw0oiLNys
