Literacy

This week we will be linking our Literacy work to a wonderful story called ‘The Storm Whale’ by Benji Davies.

Please watch/read it together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czczPkmP988

If you look carefully at the picture in the story at 1:22 of the video, you will see that Noi took a few things to the beach: a pull-along trailer, a bucket and a fishing net. What do you think he was going to do with these items at the beach? Have you used any of these items before? Have you ever been to the beach? What did you take with you? Why?

We would like you to imagine that you are writing a helpful list for someone who has never been to the beach before. What should they take for a day at the beach? Be sure to include things that will help keep you safe as well as the things you would to take to have fun.

You may want to watch this fun video of 2 children spending a day at the beach and having fun to gain some ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSfj7NbBZXc

Green: Write a list of 3/4 things you should take when you visit the beach

Amber: Write a list of 4/5 things you should take when you visit the beach

Red: Write a list of 5 or more things you should take when you visit the beach

Don’t forget to include pictures to match each item!
