Teach: See teach document. Talk about what sounds are missing? Remind them that they will be consonant clusters- letters and sounds we say quickly together

Practise: Please see Phonics. Monday. Practise Activities for all the below activities

Green activitywrite down the correct spelling for the each picture on the sheet. Can you say that word in a sentence?

Amber activitywrite word for each of the labels identified on the kitchen picture. Make sure you check that the consonant cluster is written correctly.

Red activity – Pictures and caption match- match the caption to the correct picture

Guided Reading Please read ‘The Lost Cow’ E book on Oxford Owls Website.

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/api/interactives/13018.html

Before reading the book, focus on the front page, read the title and ask; “What do you think this book will be about?”, “What might the book tell us?”, “Do you think the book will tell us a story or tell us information and facts about the weather?”

Read ‘The Lost Cow’ aloud. Encourage your child to segment the sounds in each word if needed. Once they have read the sentence, encourage them to reread it without sounding it out, to develop fluency.

Once read, review the questions asked before reading and discuss whether they were correct or not. Explain, that because this book is a story book, it’s called fiction. If it were an information book, it would be called non-fiction.

Recall times where your child has lost something. How did you feel? Where did you find it?
