This week we will be continuing to look at the ‘ay’ sound in preparation for your spelling test when you return to school on Friday. Start by completing your one minute wonder to see if you can read more words in a minute than you did last week. Then have a go at practising your spelling list by writing rainbow and pyramid words. You will be tested on your spelling list in school tomorrow.


For our retrieval work today, we will be revisiting our work on Money from last week. Miss Collins will go back money during the 9:30am Zoom call.


Today you will be writing your suspense story, retelling the Chimera scene from Percy Jackson.

You will need to include:

  • Hints about danger.
  • Phrases to show the reader how the character is feeling.
  • Sentences that show two things happening at once using subordinating conjunctions.

Miss Collins will model how to write this during your 10:45 Zoom call.

Guided Reading

Today you will be continuing to explore the text about Martin Luther King as part of Black history month. Your task today is infer about the information in the text. Remember to explain why you have come to that conclusion using what you have read in the text.

Reading Catch Up

Today you will be practising the skill of prediction. Miss Gover with complete the activity with you on Zoom at 1:15pm.

Afternoon Challenge

Today will be continuing to complete activities linked to this half term’s RE week. For this challenge, you will be exploring the life of Muhammed. Miss Gover will share information about his life with you on Zoom. Your task then is to create a timeline of his life. You can complete this on the template provided or write it out in your book using subheadings. You will need this time line for your writing work tomorrow. Please bring it to school with you in the morning.
