TT Rockstars

Day three of the TT Rock Stars competition. Can you battle hard for your class!?

Maths - Retrieval practice of formal methods of multiplication and division

Today we are going to look back over the formal methods for multiplying and dividing. Look at the help posters to remind yourselves how to set out your calculations.

For column multiplication, remember to start at the ones column and work left.

For division by chunking, remember to start by taking out chunks that are multiples of 10. This will make it much easier!

(Wednesday Maths/ Column multiplication help poster/ Chunking division help poster).

SPAG

Look at past simple and past perfect again - https://www.theschoolrun.com/what-are-the-present-perfect-and-the-past-perfect.

Complete the sentences with the Past Simple or Past Perfect of the verbs in brackets on the worksheet (SPAG Wednesday). I have done the first one for you as an example.

  1. My aunt flew to Paris last year. She __________ (never /go) on a plane before that.

This would become:

My aunt flew to Paris last year. She had never gone on a plane before that.

Writing

Today you are going to organise your facts from yesterday into a plan for writing your non-chronological report on Thursday and Friday. Think about how you need to present your writing. Use the planning template attached (Writing - Planning Template) as well as the features page (Writing – Features) to help set your ideas out. You can use other features you have seen and you can have more than two paragraphs if you wish. Remember, paragraphs single a change of subject.

Reading

Reread this week's extract then complete the retrieval activities. (Reading extract/ Reading - retrieval)

The items in brackets are the names of the resources linked to each subject.

Good luck with today's work.
