Spelling

This week we will be continuing to look at the ‘ay’ sound in preparation for your spelling test when you return to school on Friday. Start by completing your one minute wonder to see if you can read more words in a minute than you did last week. Then complete the anagrams to unscramble the ay words.

Maths

For our retrieval work today, we will be looking at column addition and subtraction. Miss Collins will go back over these methods during the 9:30am Zoom call.

English

Today we will be continuing to look at features of suspense writing to help with your narrative later in the week. Building on yesterday’s work on feelings, we will be looking at how to write sentences with subordinating clauses that show when two things are happening at the same time. During your Zoom call at 10:45, Miss Collins will show you how this can be done. Your challenge then is the complete the activities to show how the character is feeling at the time as each of the events.

Guided Reading

Today you will be continuing to explore the text about Martin Luther King as part of Black history month. Your task today is to retrieve information from the text to answer the questions. Remember to scan the text for key words in the question.

Maths Catch Up

In your catch up lesson today, you will be continuing to look at fractions of amounts. Miss Gover with complete the activity with you on Zoom.

Afternoon Challenge

Today and tomorrow you will be completing activities linked to this half term’s RE week.

Task 1 today is to sort the different words/pictures into the three religions. Miss Gover will do a few with you on the Zoom call but can you sort the rest independently, retrieving your RE knowledge from previous years?

Your second task is all about Allah. Miss Gover will introduce you to his 99 names. Your task is to choose someone special to you and come up with the different names you could call them. If you have beads and thread at home you could also make a Subha.
