Literacy
This week we will be linking our Literacy work to a wonderful story called ‘The Storm Whale’ by Benji Davies.
Please watch/read it together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czczPkmP988
Yesterday you were asked to write a message in a bottle to the whale that Noi rescued. You wrote some questions that you think Noi would ask the whale. Today we would like you to choose one of the questions you wrote to the whale and write a reply to Noi, imagining that you are the whale. If you would like to, you can write a response to more than one question.
ALL: Write a response from the whale to one of Noi’s questions, and draw a picture to match.
Maths
*All look at the PowerPoint attached and talk through the 3D shapes. Don’t worry too much if your child does not recognise the 3D shapes, this is a chance to discuss them and remind them of their names and where they might see them in their environments.
Green – Using the attached document, talk about what shapes you can see on the picture, can you spot a cube?
Amber – Using the attached document, how many 3D shapes can you spot, can you write a list of all the ones you spot?
Red – Using the attached document, how many 3D shapes can you spot, can you write a list of all the ones you spot? Can you now draw your own robot using 3D shapes and label it? *It’s a very big challenge to draw 3D shapes, even for adults! So don’t worry if your shapes aren’t identical, just give it a go!
