Spellings
Homophones:

Session one: In session one the children will have two activities to complete. The first one is to become familiar with the spelling words by doing correct or incorrect with each word. The children must decide whether the homophone within the sentences are being used correctly. The second activity is to write your own sentences using the spelling list.

Answers will be found within this document.

Guided reading

The children will be learning a space poem and can create actions or draw pictures to help them remember it. They can perform it to you!

Grammar
Singular and Plural: Look at the Learning clip to support this session. This should help sustain prior knowledge of singular and plural:

Children can answer questions  to support the correct use of ‘s’ and ‘es’ suffixes to singular nouns to create their plural form. Most words cannot be easily decoded. Some questions use exceptions to rules where the word remains the same or changes completely, such as sheep or mice.
They may also explain whether the nouns have been sorted correctly by their need for a suffix or a change of spelling.
To follow further application they may find and correct singular and plural nouns in sentences that use ‘s’ and ‘es’ suffixes with some change of spelling.
To address their knowledge and understanding they may finally explain whether a statement based on known spelling rules for words ending with ‘f’ or ‘fe’ is correct.

Answers will be found in the document.
