Admissions
Ashdene Primary School follows Cheshire East Council’s Policy for Admissions.
Applying to Start Reception in September
Starting school is a very special milestone, and we are always delighted to welcome new families to Ashdene Primary School.
By law, children must begin their education at the start of the term following their fifth birthday. However, under Cheshire East Council’s admissions policy, children may start earlier and join school in the September of the school year in which they turn five.
For full details about the application process, please visit the Cheshire East Reception Admissions page. Application process for starting school in September
If you would like to visit Ashdene before making your application, we warmly invite you to attend one of our open sessions prior to your child starting school.
Due to the school’s popularity, we offer visits on specific dates and times to minimise disruption to pupils’ learning.

In-Year Admissions
If you are applying for a place outside the normal Reception intake (for example, if you are moving into the area or wish to transfer from another school), this is known as an in-year admission.
All in-year admissions are managed by Cheshire East Council.
Further information and application forms can be found on the Cheshire East In-Year Admissions page.
If you would like to book a tour of the school or have any admissions enquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office — we’ll be happy to help.
