Parental Conflict
All parents and carers argue at times, but for some families, particularly during periods of high stress, or because of separation/divorce, arguing, shouting and aggression can become the norm.
Conflict that is frequent and unresolved is harmful to all involved, but especially to children, who often feel ‘torn’ between two sides or that they are somehow to blame.
It is important that parents and carers find ways to manage sources of stress and communicate more calmly, so that children feel safe and secure in the family home.
